What Are the Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar?


Apple cider vinegar is a great kitchen staple, boasting impressive health benefits. It contains chock-full of vitamins, minerals, and other rich nutrients, making this golden drink oh-so healthy. The question is – how exactly apple cider vinegar is beneficial? Does it have any harmful side-effects? Let’s find out!

1.    Help Detox Your Body

Apple cider vinegar is traditionally used for cleansing the body. This yellowy-orange liquid has high potassium content that helps break up mucus in the body and remove lymph nodes. This, in turn, increases blood flow and circulation and detoxifies the liver.

Generally, people take apple cider vinegar prior to acidic foods to promote digestion. Research shows that consuming apple cider vinegar can increase the acidity of your stomach that helps break down food molecules with the help of pepsin – a primary digestive enzyme found in apple cider vinegar.

Apple cider vinegar is a perfect drink to boost energy naturally. The organic drink is rich in potassium, amino acids, and enzymes that fight fatigue and instantly increase your energy levels.

You can make your own ACV at home using clean apple peels and scrapes. You will need to store them in a sterilized jar. This is part of its fermentation process that lasts for a couple of weeks. The end product is a thick golden liquid that we all know as apple cider vinegar.

While apple cider vinegar mostly affects your body in positive ways, its excessive consumption can lead to harmful side-effects such as the erosion of tooth enamel or skin or throat burn. Therefore, health experts recommend drinking ACV in a minimal amount. Ideally, you should consume one-two tablespoons (15 – 30ml) of ACV daily, diluted with water.
